Justin Timberlake recently told a German newspaper that he prefers vinyl to digital music, and he is not the only one. CD sales may be plummeting, but LP sales are the highest they have been in years. The old plastic clunker is the hip way to support bands, and there’s no better way to beef up your collection than WFMU’s annual three-day record fair, the cardinal place to finger through crates of vintage classics, sleek new indie releases, and miscellaneous radio-station leftovers. With film and music programming by WFMU’s free-form curators and d.j.s and live performances by Prince Rama, Ted Leo, the Hamburglars, Butts, Fabulous Diamonds, and others. (Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St. For more information, visit wfmu.org. Oct. 22-24.)
