A Message From Listener Charles Stampul

Many shows ago Andy remarked that if a station like WFMU were described in a novel he wouldn’t believe it. I was writing my novel Progress at the time and found a spot to reference WFMU and Shut Up Weirdo.

There’s a connection in my mind between independent radio, independent publishing and cinema and independent politics. If you think that one Friday evening talk show on an independent radio station is the best you’ve ever heard, consider that a novel from an independent publisher might be the best you’ve ever read.

Though I call it a novel, Progress is actually a narrated screenplay. It has about the number of pages of the average shooting script and can be read in about the time it takes to watch a movie. (via Facebook)

I, for one, do not see the resemblance between our show and the Ron Paul campaign, but whatevs.
