You said “Brendan Byrne Arena” on SUW and THAT’S why I love you!
— Listener Jil on Andy’s Facebook page. (The Brendan Byrne Arena, opened in ‘81, was named by NJ’s then governor after himself, and is the former home of the Nets and Devils [BB was a part owner of the team]. It was one of the first arenas designed with rock concerts in mind. It became the Continental Airlines Arena in ‘96 and the Izod Center in ‘07. Because of the many name changes, most people just call it the Meadowlands arena.)
