Re Yuan vs. Renminbi (not renimbi, as I said): Renminbi is a word that mean’s “the people’s curency.” Yuan, which means “round” (as in the shape of a coin), is how that curency is denominated. So I’d say My supply of renminbi is all in 100-yuan notes. So I was wrong when I said there were two different currencies for internal and external use, although that was the case from 1978 until the early ’90s.
